1.Purpose

This Privacy Policy explains how IPTV GO processes data related to the use of the app.

IPTV GO respects its users' privacy and limits data collection to what is strictly necessary for the app to work.

IPTV GO has no backend of its own.

IPTV GO does not use any analytics tool.

IPTV GO does not use targeted advertising.

IPTV GO may however use certain third-party services needed for the app to work, notably iCloud, TMDB, Apple, OpenSubtitles, IntroDB, LumeEngine (FFmpeg) and VLCKit.

2.Data controller

3.Data processed by IPTV GO

Depending on the features used, IPTV GO may process the following data.

3.1 Profile data

IPTV GO may process:

  • profile name;
  • profile avatar or icon;
  • preferences associated with the profile;
  • display settings;
  • playback settings.

This data is used to personalise the user experience within the app.

3.2 Data related to playlists and user sources

When the user adds a source in IPTV GO, the app may process:

  • playlist URL;
  • M3U URL;
  • server URL;
  • Xtream Codes credentials;
  • username;
  • password or access token;
  • EPG URL;
  • playlist name;
  • categories coming from the playlist;
  • technical data associated with the source.

This data is provided voluntarily by the user.

IPTV GO does not provide these sources and does not check their content.

3.3 In-app usage data

IPTV GO may process, locally or via iCloud:

  • favourites;
  • playback history;
  • playback progress;
  • content marked as watched;
  • custom categories;
  • category order;
  • filter preferences;
  • player preferences;
  • display preferences;
  • profile-related settings.
  • daily playback duration, where a limit applies.

This data is used solely to operate the app and to personalise the user experience.

3.4 Technical data

IPTV GO may process certain technical data required for the app to work, in particular:

  • app version;
  • operating system version (iOS, iPadOS or tvOS);
  • device model (iPhone, iPad or Apple TV);
  • device language;
  • approximate region;
  • information required for technical compatibility;
  • technical logs strictly necessary for local diagnostics.

IPTV GO does not use this data for advertising or analytics purposes.

4.Local storage and iCloud

IPTV GO may store some data locally on the user's device.

IPTV GO may also use iCloud to synchronise or back up certain data across the Apple devices linked to the user's Apple account.

This may include:

  • profiles;
  • playlists;
  • added URLs;
  • preferences;
  • favourites;
  • history;
  • playback progress;
  • custom categories;
  • app settings.
  • files downloaded for offline playback, stored locally only.

IPTV GO has no server of its own on which to store this data.

iCloud synchronisation depends on Apple's services, the user's Apple account, their iCloud settings, service availability and the Internet connection.

The user can manage certain iCloud data from the Apple settings of their device or of their Apple account.

5.Offline downloads

When the user downloads content for offline playback, the file is saved on their device.

IPTV GO keeps locally the information needed to manage those downloads: title, originating source, size, progress and file location.

Those files and that information stay on the device. They are sent to no IPTV GO server and are not synchronised through iCloud.

The download is performed directly from the source configured by the user, with no IPTV GO intermediary.

6.Casting to an external device

IPTV GO can cast playback to a compatible device on the same local network, a Chromecast for instance.

Discovering those devices requires the local network permission. It only locates the available receivers and sends no information to IPTV GO.

During a cast, it is the user's device that reads the source and relays the stream to the receiver over the local network. The source address and any credentials it contains are not sent to the receiver.

These exchanges happen directly between the user's device and the chosen receiver. None of this data passes through an IPTV GO server.

7.Playlist credentials and sensitive data

Some sources added by the user may contain credentials, passwords, tokens or private URLs.

The user is responsible for keeping this information confidential.

IPTV GO uses this data solely to let the user access the sources they added themselves.

IPTV GO does not resell this data.

IPTV GO does not use it for advertising purposes.

IPTV GO does not send it to any IPTV GO backend.

This data may however be transmitted, as a technical necessity, to the servers configured by the user whenever the app attempts to load a playlist, an EPG, a stream or a related resource.

8.Use of TMDB

IPTV GO may use TMDB to retrieve metadata related to the content displayed in the app.

This metadata may include:

  • titles;
  • posters;
  • images;
  • descriptions;
  • release dates;
  • genres;
  • cast;
  • movie or series information;
  • TMDB identifiers.

When a search or a metadata match is performed, certain information may be sent to TMDB, for example:

  • the title searched for;
  • the type of content searched for;
  • the search language or region;
  • the movie or series identifier;
  • the technical request required by the API.

TMDB does not supply the video content played in IPTV GO.

TMDB is used solely to enrich the display with metadata.

Processing carried out by TMDB is governed by its own terms and privacy policies.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

9.Subtitles and intro detection

When the user searches for subtitles, IPTV GO queries OpenSubtitles, sending it the searched title, the wanted languages and, for a series, the season and episode number.

This search only happens at the user's explicit request.

To offer skipping an intro or outro, IPTV GO may query IntroDB, sending it the show's IMDb id, the season and the episode number.

None of these requests contains the source address, the user's credentials or the content being played. OpenSubtitles and IntroDB process this data under their own terms and privacy policies.

10.Video playback technologies

IPTV GO uses LumeEngine, which embeds the FFmpeg library, for video playback on your device.

Formats natively supported by Apple are played by AVPlayer, the system's built-in player.

VLCKit is used solely for casting to a compatible external device. It performs no video playback on your device.

None of these technologies provides content, channels, playlists or IPTV subscriptions. They serve only to play the sources configured by the user and transmit no personal data to their authors.

11.Apple in-app purchases

IPTV GO may offer in-app purchases or premium features through the App Store.

Payments are processed by Apple.

IPTV GO does not directly collect the user's payment details.

Apple may process certain data relating to purchases, subscriptions, refunds, renewals or transactions in accordance with its own rules.

IPTV GO may receive or process certain technical information required to verify purchase or subscription status, for example:

  • purchase status;
  • subscription status;
  • product identifier;
  • transaction information required to unlock features.

This data is used solely to activate, maintain or restore the features purchased in the app.

Without a purchase, the app may limit daily playback time. To apply that limit consistently across the user's devices, IPTV GO records the playback time elapsed during the day.

That measurement is stored in the user's private iCloud space, which IPTV GO cannot reach from any server of its own. It contains neither the title, nor the source, nor the nature of what was played.

12.No analytics and no targeted advertising

IPTV GO does not use any analytics tool.

IPTV GO does not track the user for advertising purposes.

IPTV GO does not sell its users' personal data.

IPTV GO does not use user data to build an advertising profile.

IPTV GO does not display targeted advertising based on the user's personal data.

13.Data sharing

IPTV GO does not sell its users' personal data.

Some data may however be processed by third-party services required for the app to work:

  • Apple, for the App Store, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, iCloud and in-app purchases;
  • TMDB, for retrieving metadata;
  • LumeEngine (FFmpeg) and VideoLAN / VLCKit, for video playback and casting technologies;
  • the servers or sources configured directly by the user.
  • OpenSubtitles and IntroDB, for subtitle search and episode intro detection;

IPTV GO does not control the privacy practices of third-party services or of the sources added by the user.

The user is encouraged to read the privacy policies of the third-party services they use.

14.Security

IPTV GO implements reasonable measures to protect the data processed within the app.

The user remains responsible for:

  • the security of their devices;
  • their Apple account;
  • their credentials;
  • the sources they add;
  • the confidentiality of their URLs and access credentials;
  • the third-party services they use.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be entirely secure.

15.Data retention

Data stored locally in IPTV GO is retained for as long as the user keeps the app, the profile or the associated data.

Data synchronised through iCloud is retained according to the user's iCloud settings and Apple's applicable rules.

The user can delete certain data directly from the app where the features allow it.

Deleting the app may delete the associated local data.

Deleting iCloud data may require action in the Apple settings or in the options provided by the app.

16.User rights

In accordance with applicable regulations, the user may have the following rights:

  • right of access;
  • right to rectification;
  • right to erasure;
  • right to object;
  • right to restriction of processing;
  • right to data portability;
  • right to withdraw consent where processing is based on it;
  • right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

Where data is stored only locally or in the user's personal iCloud space, IPTV GO may be technically unable to access it directly. In that case, the user can delete or manage that data from the app, from their device or from the iCloud settings.

17.Minors' data

IPTV GO is not specifically aimed at children and does not address them in its general presentation.

Use of IPTV GO by a minor must take place under the responsibility of their legal guardians.

IPTV GO does not knowingly seek to collect personal data concerning minors.

IPTV GO offers a kids mode, designed to be set up by an adult and meant to restrict the content shown on a given profile.

This mode collects no data about the child. It asks for no age, date of birth or identity: filtering relies solely on the classification information attached to the content.

Filtering depends on the information available for each item and cannot be guaranteed to be exhaustive. It does not replace adult supervision.

18.Transfers outside the European Union

Some third-party services used by IPTV GO, notably Apple, TMDB, OpenSubtitles or IntroDB, may process certain data outside the European Union.

Such processing is governed by the privacy policies and safeguards specific to those services.

IPTV GO has no backend of its own through which user data could be centralised.

19.Changes to the Privacy Policy

The Publisher may amend this Privacy Policy to reflect:

  • changes to the app;
  • new features;
  • legal or regulatory changes;
  • App Store requirements;
  • technical changes;
  • the addition or removal of third-party services.

The applicable version is the one available in the app or on the official IPTV GO website at the time of use.
